Written Memorial Results Announcement 2026
Pursuant to Article 12(a) of the Unwanted Witness Privacy Moot Court Competition Rules 2026, we are honored to release the results of the Written Memorial Stage of the Competition rules 2026, today, 4th September 2026.
This year’s competition, under the theme “Protecting Personal Data in Digital Financial Services and Fintech Ecosystems in East Africa” has seen teams from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda engage deeply with one of the most pressing legal and societal challenges of our time.
We warmly congratulate the top-ranking teams from each country that have qualified for the National Rounds. At the same time, we extend our sincere appreciation to all participating teams. Your memorials reflected not only a strong grasp of privacy as a fundamental right, but also an impressive appreciation of data protection as an evolving legal field.
To the teams that did not progress further, we encourage you to take pride in your work and perseverance. Each submission contributed to enriching the discourse on digital rights and demonstrated the promise of a new generation of legal thinkers. We look forward to your continued engagement and urge you to return stronger in future editions.

We deeply value the commitment and creativity you brought to this stage. Though the journey pauses here for now, it is only a stepping stone. We encourage you to build on this experience, refine your skills, and return even stronger in the next edition.
